The terroir of Chateauneuf du Pape is not uniform: we can find 15 different types of soil and subsoil with the predominance:

- sand

- clay

- limestone

The rolled pebbles, true emblematic images of the appellation's terroir, have the particularity of restoring the bunches of grapes the heat stored during the day. They thus participate in perfect ripening. They also prevent the development of certain diseases, water evaporating on contact.

Domaine de la Charbonnieres operates 19 hectares 50 of vines in the AOC Châteauneuf du Pape appellation, which are located:

    On the high plateaux of the localities of "Brusquières" and "Crau" with a soil lined with the famously rolled pebbles;
    On the place called "Mourre des Perdrix" with a sandy soil lined with pebbles;
    And around the estate in sandy soil.

Bottle: The coat of arms bottle, launched in 1937 on the initiative of the Syndicat des Propri Owners of Châteauneuf du Pape, then chaired by Baron Le Roy de Boiseaumarié, remains a symbol of success and one of the elements of pride of the winemakers of our appellation.
